Resilient Dome/Wall Laboratory - MIR (Make It Resilient)
The "Resilient Dome/Wall Laboratory" is designed to withstand the harsh desert environment of the Sahara. Let's first discuss the structure of the laboratory. The laboratory is surrounded by an outer fence to keep animals and people away from dangerous areas. Warning signs will caution against crossing the fence, which is electrified. The teal walls are designed to protect the laboratory from sandstorms and other natural phenomena. In case of dangerous weather, personnel can raise the dome on the top edges of the teal walls to prevent sand from entering. Inside the laboratory, there is a bathroom, research lab, a living room-like area, as well as an interactive 3D map of the Sahara and a big screen TV for major updates and possible extreme weathers. On the bottom level of the Laboratory, there are beds and a closet full of clothes, and it serves as a bunker in case any emergencies happen.

Supplies
Supplies include Concrete, Electronics, Signs, Heavy-Duty Vehicles, Bathroom Supplies, Mattress's, Science Supplies, Closet, Clothes, Emergency Supplies, Food, Water, etc.
Hole Excavation & Bunker Construction
We will begin by excavating a hole that measures 12 feet by 6 feet and is connected to the laboratory. We will use durable and high-strength materials such as reinforced concrete or steel for the bunker's walls, roof, and door. We will be also using materials that provide insulation against radiation and extreme temperatures due to the intense heat in the Sahara. Then we will reinforce the walls and ceiling to withstand pressure from soil, water, and potential external forces. Furthermore, we will Install ventilation systems with air filtration to ensure a fresh air supply while keeping contaminants out. In case of power failure, we will plan for emergency backup ventilation systems. What's more, We will install a secure and robust door that can withstand high pressures and provide an airtight seal. Alongside a robust door we will implement security measures such as locks and access control systems to protect the bunker from unauthorized entry. Equally as important, We will plan for essential utilities such as lighting, power, water, and sanitation systems. In addition, we will store emergency supplies such as food, water, medical supplies, and communication equipment within the bunker. We will also conduct thorough testing of the bunker's systems, including structural integrity, air quality, and utility functionality. Lastly, establish a regular maintenance schedule to ensure the bunker remains fully operational and ready for use.
Laboratory Construction
We will first plan and design the layout of the laboratory, considering the necessary space for equipment, workstations, storage, and safety measures. Then ensure the space meets all building and safety codes, including proper ventilation, lighting, and access to emergency exits. Select and install appropriate laboratory furniture, such as benches, cabinets, and storage units, keeping in mind the need for durability and easy maintenance. Install necessary utilities, including water, gas, electricity, and data connections to support the functioning of lab equipment and experiments. Acquire and set up essential laboratory equipment, such as fume hoods, safety showers, emergency eye wash stations, centrifuges, microscopes, and analytical instruments. Making sure we establish designated areas for specific laboratory functions, such as sample preparation, experimentation, and data analysis, ensuring proper workflow and organization. Implement safety measures, including the installation of fire extinguishers, safety signs, and personal protective equipment for laboratory staff. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the laboratory, including protocols for waste disposal, cleaning, and equipment maintenance. Train laboratory personnel on safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency protocols to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Regularly inspect and maintain the laboratory, addressing any issues with equipment, infrastructure, or safety measures to uphold a functional and safe working environment.
