Repurposed Jacket, Dress Shirt, and Tie Into Apron

finished apron.jpg

This is a fun way to reuse a jacket, dress shirt, and tie that no longer fits or you can get one from the local Goodwill store. Great apron for the "special" person in your life. You will need knowledge using a sewing machine for this project. It can easily be adapted to a western look if you use a western style jacket and maybe a string tie or more casual without a tie. Have fun and be creative!

· Open seam A at the back of the jacket, fold the fabric down tucking it inside the collar of the shirt and stitch opening between the back and the shirt collar closed.

* Use the material of the sleeve of the jacket to extend the collar 5 inches. Attach Velcro to the ends of the collar to fasten around the neck.

Use fabric from the other sleeve to make ties for the apron (4 strips, 1 ½ inches wide, the length of the sleeve)
