Although my ect sensor is working fine, it has been in service since 1999. I decided to be proactive and replace the sensor. Luckily years ago I bought two of these by mistake and had them in storage ever since.

Read on for my sensor replacement job!

Using a 19mm deep socket I removed the oem sensor. Coolant of course came out. I quickly screwed in the new one. There is no need for coolant air bleeding in this job.

Install the New Sensor.

I used my digital Torque tool to make sure I installed it properly without damaging it. The Honda manual calls for 24 Nm.

Now my trusty civic is working fine and I'm happy.
