Repair a Chrome Candle Stick Holder With Sugru

The Problem

I received a set of Krome Craft Candle stick holders from my mom. She said they were my great grandmothers most likely from the 1930’s. The problem is that at some point in time one of them broke in two pieces. And at some point someone’s solution to fix it was with a screw. This solution was not secure as the top part of the candle stick holder tilted a bit and was wobbly. Not secure and not safe for holding a lighted candle.

Can Sugru fix it? Let’s give it a try

The Fix

Prepare all Items before you get started.

Cut open mini pack of Sugru and use a small amount. About the size of your finger tip.

Roll

Roll Sugru into a ball and place ball on bottom half of candle stick holder.

Place, Squish and Scrape

Place top of candle stick holder on top of ball of Sugru and squish it together. Don't be gentle. Really squish and hold it in place for about 30 seconds.

Wearing rubber gloves scrape off any Sugru that came out the sides using your finger nail.

You Are Done!

And there it is. One piece again, safe, ready to use after 24 hours setting time. Great Grandmother would be proud.
