Refresh Disinfecting Wipes

I had an almost full container of Clorox disinfecting wipes that was dried out and useless. Rather than throw them out, I restored them back to being able to disinfect surfaces.

Supplies

70% Isopropyl Alcohol

Remove the Lid

The lid is held on with friction and snaps off. Pull the lid and perhaps use a butter knife or other implement to help pry it off if necessary.

Soak the Wipes With Alcohol

Soak the wipes in the 70% alcohol. I found it easier to remove the roll and pour it over the top, the bottom, and the sides (rotating the roll). Be sure to saturate the wipes completely so they are all infused with alcohol. You could use a higher concentration but that would just be a waste. I picked this bottle up from Dollar Tree for $1.25.

Put the Wipes Back

Put the wipes back in the container. Pull a wipe from inside the roll and force it through the slot in the lid which you just snap back on. That's it. You now have restored your wipes and they will coat surfaces again with alcohol which will disinfect most hard surfaces.

Uses 8 Oz. of Alcohol

In my case, it took about half a 16 oz. bottle of alcohol to completely saturate an almost full container of wipes.
