Recycled Vertical Garden
Easy to make, kid friendly vertical garden made with ordinary materials
Supplies
1. 30, newspaper rubber bands
2. 4, 6-inch long wood stick
3. String
4. Clothes rack
5. 5 Plastic bottles
6. Exacto knife
7. Dirt & plants depends on what you like
Step 1: Build the Clothes Rack
I had a very simple 5 piece clothes rack. Had to mount the side poles first then continue with the middle and top bars that went from one side to the other.

Step 2: Clean the Plastic Bottles
Clean the plastic bottles with soap and water, make sure you rinse all of the soap. Then leave upso

Step 3: Take the Labels Off the Plastic Bottles
Since the bottles have labels on them, use the exacto knife to cut them. It is better to remove them before moving further in the process.
Step 4: Cut Open Plastic Bottles
Heat up the exacto knife and then insert it into the plastic bottle to cut the top like the line on the image on the left, and then a big square in the center like the image in the left, finally make two holes near the top of the bottle one in front of the other
Step 5: Insert Rubber Bands for First Row and First Plastic Bottle
Insert 24 rubber bands into the top tube splitting them in half, 15 and 15 around 4 inches apart. Get a plastic bottle already cut and put a 6 inch stick in the hole, goes in one side, comes out the other of the plastic bottle. Then hand each end of the stick with the rubber bands.

Step 6: Connect the Top and Bottom Bottles
Get another bottle and as the past one insert the 6-inch stick through the top. Cut and make a knot in the string according to the length of the bottles (like the pink circles.
Step 7: Place Plants in Bottles
Remove the bottles from the rack and put a little bit of dirt, then place the plant with it roots and then place more dirt surrounding the roots so only the plants are above the dirt.
Then place connect the two bottles with the string and hang them from the rubber bands again.
