Recycled Planter

Here is a fun, easy recycled planter that just about anyone can make in under fifteen minutes, start to finish. And, because of its simple design, your plant will rarely have to be watered!

You will need:

• An empty soda bottle
• A plant or seeds
• Dirt
• Rocks or pebbles
• Scissors

Instructable was the result of a team effort consisting of Megan Vitka, David Truax, Jon Warzel, and Caroline McCormack of Western CT State University.

Take scissors and cut into the soda bottle about a quarter of the way from the cap. Be sure to cut the whole top of the soda bottle off and even out the rim if necessary.

Pour in rocks or pebbles to the bottom of the soda bottle. Rocks or pebbles will create a spring underneath the soil, that can keep the plant hydrated.

Add the dirt about half of the way up the soda bottle and dig out a little ditch into the center of the dirt to put your plant in.

Insert the plant or seeds into the dirt and pat it down.

Fill the rest of the soda bottle with dirt until it reaches the top.
