Recycled Book Wreath

051.JPG

Make a fun festive wreath for Christmas using an old book.

Supplies you'll need:

1 to 2 old books

1 piece of chip board- we used a 22" × 28"

hot glue gun

5 to 10 hot glue sticks

Scissors

Ribbon

Marker

Tape

Create the Base

Draw a circle in the center of your chip board. This will be the base of your wreath and make it a little easier than cutting a hole in the middle.

Prepare Your Pages

Very carefully cut out the individual pages from the book. We used a utility knife. Try to make the cuts as straight as possible. You might need to remove the book binding first.

Curl the Pages

Curl the pages into small cones. Tape down the outside edge to keep the cone shape. You are going to need to make at least 90 or more depending on the size of the pages.

Start Gluing

Using the circle you drew as the starting edge, start gluing your pages into a wide circle. Keep adding layers of pages until you have a full wreath without any empty spots. We had about 3 to 4 layers on ours.

Add Your Bow or Decorations

Add your ribbon or decoration to the center and your wreath is complete. Don't forget to punch a hole in the chipboard to use as a hanger.
