Real-life Laser Plate

(recently fixed and tested)

if you're a big science toy/gadget fan, you've probably seen these cool laser gadgets with words like "tokyo" written on it. if you're willing to buy one, you're out of luck because these things aren't real, it's just CGI made by someone named "flavio carvalho"(plus scientific fact: light CAN'T move like that so it's impossible on real life). if you always wanted one for yourself, try out these steps to get your own laser plate. it might look a bit strange, but it's worth a try!

Supplies

you will need:

a 3D printer(any printer would do as long it's not so horrible)

some superglue

colored laser pointers(mine was not)

a cheap humidifier(or a smoke machine)

Print Out & Assemble

after you downloaded the thing files, try to print it out using a sindoh dp103 or an ender 3. actually any printer would do as long it's not so bad at printing qualities. oh, and size dosen't matter as long it is big enough. when you're done with the print, assemble the whole thing using some superglue(except the big "L" shaped part)

p.s. DON'T use superglue on the rails. just the legs and the laser carring square platform(and the handle) would use it.

Lasers!

when you're done with the assembly, test out the movements as it moves just like the original. ok. now you're ready to install the lasers. i only had cheap store-bought red ones, but do consider buying in more colors. when you've got the lasers, tape 'em up like shown in the picture. make sure the buttons are lined face-up.

p.s. DON'T point these at human eyes.

L Block Installation

time for the L block to do the work. take out the moving system and glue the L block to the tiny sqaure platform. make sure the L block dosen't stick up behind the rail(if not, it'll fell backwards when the lasers are installed).

Laser Testing

this step is a little bit tricky: place the lasers on the L block with the buttons facing to the wall. tie it up with some rubber bands but posistion it right beneath the laser buttons(shown in picture). all the lasers should light up if you made it right.

Final Installation

now let's put the finished moving system on the whole plate. now only we need to do is go to wallmart and ourselves some humidifiers(or smoke machines).

Add a Affordable Humidifier

for the last and final, buy a cheap humidifier to make your laser visable. the smoke would make the cool laser beams visable and cure dry sinuses, bloody noses, etc. a smoke machine works better, but that smoke is not good for you. place your machine right next/beneath the laser plate, and you have yourself a real-life, hand powered, 3D-printed laser plate! thanks for reading!
