This is an interesting instant noodle timer. It can provide the best time to eat instant noodles, at the same time, it makes waiting more interesting. It's suitable for people who always forget how long they cooked the noodles, they don't have to check are the noodles done already. By using this device, you just need to press a button and set up how long the time you need, and wait until the time is up. The device will make sounds and lights to remind you that your noodles are ready, also, the step motor will raise up the chopsticks that you put beside, it's easier for you to get. Other tablewares such as spoon and fork can put on the top of the device, so when the noodles is ready, you can eat imminently.

  • 1 Utility knife
  • 1 thick straw
  • wrap tool
  • 1 Wire Strippers
  • 1 Data transfer cable
  • 1 wire wrapping wire
  • 1 recycle cup holder
  • 1 Arduino Leonardo
  • 1 Mini Breadboard
  • 1 Double-sided tape
  • 1 Styrofoam board

3 LEDs will be in a group, there's total of 4 groups. Cut off few sections of the wire wrapping wire, use the wrap tool and the wire strippers to help you remove the surface of the wire.

Connect the positive poles of LED in each group together with wires, and connect the negative poles of LED in each group together with wires.

Cut the styrofoam with the size 22cm×22cm, cover it with the wrapping paper.

Add LED and Battery

Fixed the LEDs on the styrofoam, and cut a 5cm× 2cm hole to insert the 9v battery for power.

Fixed the Stepper Step Motor

Use the tape to fix the step motor on the styrofoam. Also, for the straw, cut it in size which your straw can able to put your chopsticks in, fixed it on the step motor.

You will need to connect four things in this section (speaker, stepper step motor, switch, and blue LED)

Use the pictures above to help you connect the circuits. The order of my circuit connection is: Stepper step motor → Speaker→ Switch→ Blue LED

Upload the Code

Connect the code with your device, see how it works.

Decorate Your Device

I added cute words on it for decoration, to make it looks more pretty and interesting. You can also decorate your own one, it will be good.

You're Done!

Arduino project- Ready To Eat

Cover it up with the recycle cup holder that you decorated. You may also place your tablewares at the hole.

For testing, I set the time for 5 seconds so that we can quickly see how it works. Go ahead and change the code for needed, you can set between 2-3 minutes or even more.
