Re-birth of Baby Bed

tämä1.jpg

Ok, I have not used to document anything before of after I created something, so therefore at least the photo from before is missing.

Anyhow, one day I was kindly told that there is room for green wall in our living room. Do something.

Our baby boy was about grow out from his bed and soon we have to decide what to do with the bed.

--

One day, I was wandering around the local supermarket and found some flowerpots with hook. Nice, I thought, we could use these on the green wall. Following night I woke up and got the idea which is described in nice drawing.

--

As all parents are very well aware, sometimes there is need for restrict the access from children's.. When looking the leftovers from the bed, there was end pieces still available and clearly there is change to make something.

A pair of hinges and small woodwork, we have a movable fence.

--

Bottom part was the most difficult to find purpose.

With small surfing on Internet, there was pretty similar garden game. I followed the instructions and now we have nice garden game waiting next summer. Still waiting painting though.

--

At the end, there was only mattress left.

There was also local animal care center which is always need of small-sized mattresses for their customers.

Job done and all parts re-used.

As told on introduction, the flowerpots was found from local supermarket. The hook is not the tight fit but it is not scratching wall carpet.

The baby bed is fixed to wall with common screws. Some spacers are needed to lift the frame from wall. I used small piece of plastic tube which I got from electrical pipe.

It was also surprise for me that this will fit in every need what we have.

Simply installed small hinges to baby bed ends, so you can fold the gate and save space.

Fireplace installation needed small sawing, but it was quickly done. (Ok, this is not the most child-proof solution but it gives indication to baby that there is nothing for you.)

Same gate keeps the dog out from kitchen while kids eat. (Not used though, the dog is there just to look what I´m doing with the gate)

Garden Game

This one is under construction since no-one will play this game in freezing cold.

Anyhow drilling is done and two hooks fitted to ropes.

Also old bucket handle found new purpose.

Some painting will be done.

This idea is copied somewhere of Internet, sadly I don´t remember where.
