Real simple-
Grab a hand full of almond nuts put them into a blender with a cup of water and blend until smooth. No need to strain for this recipe. Just pour over your oats.

Now add your oats to your bowl, then pour in your almond milk, put in your spices, (spices can be added to your blender say you want to make extra flavoured almond milk for later use). Next you want to layer on your fresh fruits, followed by your dried fruits and nuts then sprinkle on your bran flakes and other cereal for a little crunch. Top off with your coconut flakes and enjoy. You probably will never return to cooking your oats, ever!

Tip:- you can make coconut flakes by simply grating a piece of fresh coconut on the shredding side of your grater.

Tips and Ideas

-You can totally customise this recipe and still enjoy the goodness of raw oatmeal such as adding blueberries and other berries or other fruits.

I have used a variety of other fresh fruits including mangoes, kiwi, papaya, melon, pineapple, and even a little citrus pulp. The important thing is balance the tangy and the sweet. some of the variety of other dried fruits I have used includes, dates, prunes, candied pineapple and dehydrated ripe bananas.

-Pictured above is that blended mixed peel which I like to add in lumps

- Also be sure to add or substitute other nuts as well as I do from time to time to include, cashew nuts, pecans, pistachios, hazelnuts, Brasil nuts, macadamia and a host of other nuts

-Seeds such as sunflower, pumpkin and chia also make a healthy addition so go right ahead and add some of the seeds you consume.
