Objective: Create a savory and quick ramen noodle snack with common household ingredients.

Cooking time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients List:

1 package of instant Ramen (Chicken, Oriental, Shrimp, etc.)

Soy sauce

Garlic or onion powder

Chicken, Pork, Bacon and/or Tofu

Optional: Chili flakes, eggs, vegetables, Sriracha, Green Onions

Cook That Ramen!

Boil 1 packet of chicken flavored ramen in a small pot of water on high. Length of boil depends on texture desired - if you want softer noodles boil them for a longer time.

If there is no stove top available, put your ramen into a microwave-safe container and add enough water to cover the noodle block. Microwave on high for 3 minutes, stir the noodles, and microwave for 1 minute (or more, depending on desired texture).

Cook Your Protein!

While your ramen boils, cook your chosen protein, whether it’s chicken, pork or even bacon! If you want a non-meat protein, add in eggs or tofu. Flavor your chicken with your seasoning of choice, then cook with oil or butter in a small pan until fully done.

If you’re looking for a meat alternative but still want protein, try tofu or eggs! You can scramble, hard boil, poach or drop an egg directly to your soup. Tofu can also be added directly to your soup, but is mostly cooked beforehand. To cook your tofu, heat up a small amount of oil or water in a pan at medium heat. Cut tofu into ½ inch slices and cook for about 3 minutes on each side. Once your tofu has a nice outer crust, set it aside and then add it to your soup.

Add Seasoning!

Once your noodles are cooked, drain some water if desired and add in chicken flavored seasoning, soy sauce, and/or chili flakes for increased flavor. The less water your noodles have, the stronger the flavors of the seasoning will be.

Add in Toppings!

Chop up your onions and other desired toppings on the side. If there is no stove top, use microwaveable steamed vegetables.

Serve!

Add your cooked protein and vegetables to your ramen boil. For an extra spicy bonus, sprinkle extra chili flakes on top of your ramen. Voila!
