Raised Garden Box

This project is made from an old pallet i found somewhere. It takes about 6 hours to complete. The garden box has a holding capacity of around 26 liters.
You can also customise it by writing something on the front with a transfer marker.

What you need:
-wood saw
-screws or nails
-10cm by 1 meter or 3.9 by 39 inches wooden pallet plank
-5.5cm by 3cm by 1meter or 2.1 by 1.1 by 39 inches wooden pallet plank
-garbage bag
-25 by 64 cm or 9.8 by 25 inches plywood plate
-hook screws

First you have to cut 25 cm or 9.8 inches of all of the 10 by 1meter or 3.9 by 39 inches wooden plank. Than you also have to cut 25 cm or 9.8 inches of the 5.5 by 3 by 1 meter or 2.1 by 1.1 by 39 inches wooden plank. Now sand everything realy good. Make it all smooth. Also sand the 25 by 64 cm or 9.8 by 25 inches plywood plate. Now make drainage holes in the 25 by 64 cm plywood plate. Make sure these holes are about 1 cm or 0.4 inches in diameter.

First you want to put the longest pallet planks on the 3 by 5.5 cm or 1.18 by 2.16 inches plank(these will be the legs). Do this twice,but make sure the gaps between the long planks are at least 1.5 cm or 0.6 inches wide. Now put the smaller 25 by 10 or 9.8 by 3.9 on the frame as seen on the picture. Now put the plywood plate in the frame. You have to put the fame in with the 3 by 5.5 cm or 1.18 by 2.16 inches plank you have left from the legs, secure these with screws or nails ( it doesn't matter). If you now look in the box you can see there are small gaps on both sides. You can also fill these in with the left over planks from the legs. But you have to screw these on from the side. I did this with hook screws and woodglue. So i can hang stuff on the side.

Now you can put the dirt in. The garden box has a holding capacety of around 24 to 26 liters. But if you fill it, make sure you dont fill it to the top because you still have to put the plants in. You also have to put in small rocks for the drainage, without these holes the dirt will just fall through. Before you fill it you have to put a garbage bag in the box to protect the wood.you also have to put holes in the garbage bag for the drainage. Now you can put the plants in, you can put in spices flowers or plants it doesn't matter. If you want you can put text on the front. I put "herbs" on it. But it doesn't matter what you put on it. I put it on with a transfer marker. But you can also do it with a normal marker. After you put something on it make sure you put some spray paint on it to protect the text and the wood.
