Rainbow Choker Necklace

This is a fun and super easy project even an 8 year old can do, like myself! I love colorful stuff, so does my sister, who has rainbow everything and lots of tye-dye colorful stuff too. I suppose she inspired me to make my own rainbow necklace! This project shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to do, so give it a try. It could make a nice gift for someone also.

Materials Needed:

* Jewelry wire 20-22 gauge works well, but you could use 18 probably too ( Measure your neck with wire or tape measure to see how much you need for yourself, if making for a friend, make it about 12 inches long as a standard length. Give yourself an extra inch or two to work with and finish with. )

* 1 Clasp

* 1 Jump ring (optional- 2 crimp beads, I didn't use, instead I bent the wire but it is more secure when you use crimp beads at both ends to hold the beads on wire in case the clasp or jump ring breaks.)

* 1 pair of pliers, jewelry ones work best

* 7 colors of glass beads: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, purple - I used 42 beads total, but you may need more or less depending on the size of your neck/wire

Prepare Wire

Using pliers, bend one end of wire into a closed loop or hook, then attach clasp to this end of wire.

Add Beads

Add beads : slide glass beads on 6 beads per color. I used variations of beads and different shades of the colors for a fun mixture. I did them in this order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, purple - but you can change the order and put your favorites towards the middle of the strand, where the focus is.

Close the Wire

Bend the remaining end with pliers ( if you have too much leftover, you could trim a little off) into another loop or hook, so it is closed but has a hole for the clasp to lock onto. You are done. Easy, right?

Wear and Enjoy!

Please note, my identifying picture does not have a clasp attached, I added the clasp after I had already taken pics and uploaded them.
