Next month, as you may or may not know is Pride month! Many other events are happening soon as summertime is upon us. You've got music festivals, pride festivals, concerts, and other outdoor events to dress up for and get glittered up.

Body glitter can be expensive, so I've made my own.

Ingredients+ Materials

Ingredients:

-Rubbing Alcohol

-Vegetable glycerin

-Aloe vera gel (it's ok that it's not clear)

-Various colors of glitter (I went with the rainbow+silver)

Please use cosmetic grade glitter if you want this to be skin safe, especially if you plan on using around your eyes! For this project, I used what I had on hand, which was craft glitter. But use this at your own risk

Materials:

-3 small bowls (to pour your ingredients to be measured)

-syringe for measuring

-spoon to mix with

-mixing container

You'll want:

3 parts Alcohol

2 parts glycerin

1 part aloe gel

-Pour a good amount in each of your 3 bowls, and use a syringe to measure the amounts.

-Squeeze them into your mixing container

-Stir until combined and there are no lumps

*Optional Diy Palette*

Of course you can buy empty eye shadow tins online, but you can also make one with water bottle caps.

If I do this again in the future I'll be sure to remember not to use the same caps I did, as they had ridges inside that made it hard to mix and press.

Mix

Spoon enough base into each of your tins, pour enough glitter to create a pasty consistency, and mix with a toothpick

Repeat With All Colors

Then let them sit 12-24 hours so that they can dry out a bit before we press them

Press

Take a penny and wrap it in a paper towel so that we can absorb the excess base and really make the glitter more of a balm than a liquid

Press it into each color and hold for a couple of seconds each.

Usage/ Cleanup

Use the glitter any way that you want, you can use Instagram or google to find inspiration for festival glitter, glitter roots, etc. The world is your rainbow glittery oyster.

Glitter can be a pain to clean, but I've found that using some aloe vera on a paper towel allows you to wipe it clean off your skin.
