Rabbet joint and Dado joint are very easy to make on a table saw.

The Rabbet Joint is similar to Dado Joint because they are both cut half way through the wood or depending how depth and wide you wanted, But only the differents is that

Rabbet joint is cut on the against fence on any corner of the wood.

The Dado Joint can be cut anywhere within the center surface of the wood vertical or horizontal.

For the Dado and Rabbet joint is one of the most important when setting up the Dado blade set. But never set the blade too high or half way of the wood by eye balling, it never work for most people and can also ruin your wood just by the blade setting.

But setting the blade bet lower will make thing much easier because you'll have more space to cut it with the table but when it too close to the depth you can use a chisle or adjust the height of the blade by an inch.

Dado joint: When cutting make sure you have the dado set, and mark any spot you want to cut it with and alway adjust the fence the wood has horizontal cut with the middle of the wood.

Rabbet joint: Rabbet can be cut with dado blade but it has be agaist the fence. Cutting the wood with a dado blade are more easy and simple, but you'll need to adjust hight of the blade little by little unitle you have the right hight you needed.

If your unsure use a another block or scrap of wood that is all most similar to your wood, mark it and ran it through the table saw and see if you have the right hight and depth then use the original wood and cut it.
