RGB Guesser
RGB is an additive color model. In this color model Red. Green, and Blue and combined in different amounts to create different colors. RGB is represented as three numbers with a comma in between each. An example of an RGB number is rgb(255,182,193), which is light pink. You can estimate the color by it's number - for example in light pink the number for red was 255, higher than the amount of green or blue. This means that color will lean towards red tones.
In this assignment you will pick: a piece of art, a picture in your camera roll, a company logo, or even take a picture of the shirt you are wearing! Then try to guess what RGB code for a color in your picture is! Use a computer program to enter the numbers you think correspond with the color your chose! When you've gotten as close as possible use a computer program and upload the picture and see if your answer is correct!

Supplies
Step 1 - Pick an Image!
Get out your electronic device - either a computer or phone - and find an image. This image can be anything you want, but the more vibrant the color is the easier this assignment will be. The image could be a famous painting, a picture you took yesterday, the McDonalds Logo, or anything you want! Then pick a color in that picture. Stay away from white, grey, and black - remember it may be easier to pick a vibrant color the first time around.
For my image I chose a painting I made, seen below.
Step 2 - Time to Guess!
After you pick a color in your image, it's time to guess. With your knowledge of the RGB color model, try to guess the numerical value that corresponds with the color you chose! Go to the Rapid Tables RGB Color Chart and start inserting numbers. It may be useful to play around with the color charts a little before trying to color match. When you're ready, put your image next to the color chart by making the window split-screen, and try to match the color.
Remember:
We are doing an RGB assignment, so ignore the boxes for "HSV" on the Rapid Tables Website.
Step 3 - Check Your Work!
Go to the Image Picker Website and click on the box on the right hand side that says "Use Your Image". Upload your reference image and hover over the color you picked! Remember to look at the RGB number not the HEX number. Then try going back to the Rapid Tables website from Step 2 and entering the number there! Take notes of the number you guessed and the number the website got and compare with friends!
