RADIO CONTROLLED JET PLANE

RC JET PLANE .jpeg
RC JET PLANE 2.jpeg

My name is Vaishak and today I'm going to show you how to make a 3 channel RC Plane ( i.e. I'm making a RC jet plane with elevon MIX. Newbies, you can understand this as I'm making a plane with same control surfaces for both ailerons and elevators they work simultaneously for achieving both task of pitch control and roll control) I have provided a link for better understanding of elevon mix and also a tutorial for mixing the aileron and elevator(for CT6B radio set)

For a quick understanding of the jet plane I have provided some measurements below:-

  • Fuselage length : 80cm
  • Wingspan : 80cm (After building you won't think that these measurements are dumb)
  • Wing tip chord* : 13cm
  • Wing middle chord* : 30cm
  • Approximate weight : 400grams

chord* = Breadth(Definition for newbies;) )

If you have any doubt you can me personally contact me at instagram : mecrain_aviation_

or at my email id: thugmecra@gmail.com

I admit my name at "mecrain_aviation_ " is "Våîşhâķ"

Here is a Flite test article on elevon mixing: https://www.flitetest.com/articles/Elevon_Mixing_

And here is a link for elevon mixing in FLYSKY-CT6B RADIO:

Supplies

  • Radio receiver and transmitter( I'm using Fly sky CT6B Tx & FS-R6B Rx)
  • A2212/13T Bldc motor (1000Kv)
  • Servo motors(2 pieces)
  • Electronic Speed Controller(ESC)
  • Duct tape and glue gun
  • 10-inch 4.5-pitch Propeller and its bullet connector to the motor
  • Building material (I'm using cardboard but you can use any other material like depron foam etc..)
  • Reinforcing Rods(I'm using a rod from a old radio antenna you can also use any other rods)
  • X-acto Knife(For precision cutting)

The Real and Complete Mesurements

RC JET PLANE DIMENSIONS.jpeg

The reason why I'm providing the dimensions like this is because I've been trying to make a RC Plane for a long time and it became only possible when I calculated every measurement needed to make a RC plane BY MYSELF. I've watched a TON of YouTube video's on how to make a RC plane but none of them had the real dimensions and measurements to make it. What they did was to provide a flitetest RC plane build template link in the description box of the vedio. Because of the covid 19 restrictions on my locality I couldn't go out and print the template. So I came up with up own design which include 2 other designs which were really BAD. So if anyone is facing the problem as me this would be a great help for them, And this is the sole reason for which I am creating this instructable (Hoping to win the contest MAKE IT FLY is another aim;)

IF I MISSED ANY MEASUREMENT YOU CAN POST A COMMENT ABOUT IT I WILL REPLY ASAP

THE CENTER OF GRAVITY SHOULD BE AT 7.5cm FROM THE PROPPELER TO THE FRONT SIDE OF THE PLANE

YOU ALSO SHOULD REMEMBER THAT A NOSE HEAVY PLANE WILL FLY FOR LONG; BUT A TAIL HEAVY PLANE WILL ONLY FLY ONCE.

If you want measurements of the plane to be written down or copy then here is it:-

Fuselage length: 80cm

Wingspan: 80cm

Wing tip chord : 13cm

Wing middle chord: 30cm

Horizontal stabilizer length: 35cm

Horizontal stabilizer breadth:18.5cm

Elevator Length: 15cm

Elevator Breadth: 6.5cm

Horizontal stabilizer Angle of placement :70degree

Horizontal stabilizer base length: 14cm // I COULDN'T INCLUDE THIS IN THE PICTURE

Horizontal stabilizer tip length : 11cm // I COULDN'T INCLUDE THIS IN THE PICTURE

Horizontal stabilizer frontside length : 11cm // I COULDN'T INCLUDE THIS IN THE PICTURE

Horizontal stabilizer backside length : 11cm // I COULDN'T INCLUDE THIS IN THE PICTURE

THE ELECTRONICS

BATTERY
  • I have used a 1000 mah 3s LiPo battery with a 12 v output(The company name is "ORANGE")

SERVO

  • I have used Tower pro Sg90 micro servo (This is the classic blue servo)

ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROLLER (ESC)

  • I have used a Simonk 30 amp ESC

MOTOR

  • I have used a motor with a rating of 1000Kv and the number written on it is A2212/13T

RADIO

  • FLYSKY CT6B Radio transmitter and FS-R6B Receiver

THE CIRCUIT

Screenshot (1111).png

Of course this image isn't mine but would be a great help for beginners, So you can make use of it.You can ignore the rudder servo because I'm not using that in my plane

Why is there no footage of the plane flying.

I don't have any footage of the plane flying because I couldn't get out of my house because of the COVD-19 restrictions in my local area. I had once flown it (A long time ago) but I couldn't record it flying
PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU EVEN HAS A SLIGHTEST DOUBT OR ISSUE I WOULD BE VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GLAD TO SOLVE IT ONCE AGAIN HERE IS MY INSTAGRAM ID: mecrain_aviation_ AND HERE IS MY EMAIL ID: thugmecra@gmail.com if you contact me via email I might take some time to notice it but still I will see it at least within 5-7 days

Make Use of This Tinkercad 3d Design

First of all I don't have a 3d printer so I cannot print this design which I made

But I know how to use Tinkercad VERY VERY Well so I made a design in Tinkercad.

Here is the link for it: https: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/5lQG0WMYaK8-RC-Je...

It took me about 2 and half days to complete this. But on the last day when I opened Tinkercad the design was not in the state I left it, I either forgot to save it or I don't know what happened but luckily I had downloaded and shared it with a friend of mine so l was saved(phew).
