Quilted Designer Purse

Get ready to take your cardmaking skills to the next level with this quilted designer purse template + tutorial. If you have a friend who has an addiction to designer purses, then this is the tutorial for you.

• Quilted Designer Purse Template
• Cardstock
• Tape
• Ruler
• Scissors
• X-acto knife
• Score tool
• Cutting mat
• Glue / Double sided tape
• Scrapbooking magnets

When you have gathered all the materials and have your template sheets printed out, grab two pieces of card stock. Place any of the Stitched Pieces in front of the two card stock and tape the template to the card stock on all four sides. This will make cutting the card stock a lot easier.

To cut the stitched pieces, I'll be using a corked back ruler, x-acto knife, and a cutting mat. A pair of scissors will work too.

Start off by cutting along the red lines and use your scissors to round off the corners. When you're finished, you should be left with two pieces of cardstock that have been cut to perfection.

Repeat this with the rest of the stitched pieces that are included with the rest of the template.

All your pieces should be cut. Now we'll be taking one of the two card stocks and taping the template to it. With your ruler and your score tool, score along the diagonal lines. If you don't have a score tool, you can use a ball point pen or the back of an x-acto knife. This will give it the "quilted" pattern.

Now it's time to create the card base. Gather all the remaining template sheets, you should have the Back, Front, and Top pieces. Line up these sheets on cardstock that is contrasting to the first cardstock you've used. Cut along the red lines. Grab a pencil and line up the cards once you've cut them. You're going to want to mark where the red dot is. This is where the magnet will go.

For the tab piece, mark the red dot, and fold along the blue line. Mark the sides of the tab piece and the other pieces too after you fold it. This will indicate where you need to glue. Now fold along all of the score lines.

Once you're done scoring you're ready to glue it together. Apply glue onto the front panel and press it onto the back panel. Do the same thing with the top piece. Grab the tab piece, apply glue to it, and press it onto the top piece.

Gather your magnets and place them on top of the pencil markings you made earlier and tape it down. Take your second magnet on the other side of the tab. Using the third magnet, place it onto the middle of the card so that it will stay closed.

To finish off the card, you have to tape or glue on the quilted pieces from the previous steps.
