Personally, pasta is my favorite food and finding an easy, efficient way to make it was very important. These steps you are about to read are the 10 steps I take before stuffing myself with pasta every other day. I know! It's just that good. On a more serious note, you will be pleasantly surprised with the results and your husband definitely won't complain. Before you begin reading the steps, please wash your hands as well as the materials you will be using.
Gather All Your Ingredients and Materials
Ingredients:
1. Your choice of pasta (rigatoni, farfalle, macaroni, etc.).
2.Salt
3. Sauce of your choice (Traditional Ragu, Prego, Classic Alfredo, etc.).
4. Grated cheese (parmesan).
5. Water
Materials:
1. A pot
2. A mixing tool
3. A stove
4. A spoon
5. A strainer
Fill Your Pot With Water
Grab your pot and fill it with water. Make sure you don't fill too much of the pot. Never fill it to the top. It mostly depends on how much pasta you will be making but just over half is the best amount.
Start Boiling Your Water
Place your pot on the stove and turn it up to 212 degrees. This will get the water boiling in about 10 minutes. Once your water starts bubbling that indicates it has reached its boiling point.
Add Salt
Add 2 full tablespoons of salt to your water as soon as you place your pot with water on the stove. This will help boil your pasta and also help give it flavor.
Add Your Pasta
Once the water is bubbling you can add your pasta into the pot. Be careful and try not to splash because the water may burn you.
Stir !
Stir your pasta every 2 or so minutes to help it cook evenly. Some pastas may take longer to soften so you may want to keep an eye out for when the pasta has reached the consistency you prefer. The average wait time is 10-15 minutes, but it may be different for you.
Drain Out the Water
Taste your pasta to make sure it is cooked. Once your pasta is done cooking you will need to drain the water out. If you will be having all the pasta you make, I recommend you grab a strainer and place your pot over it as you pour the water out in your sink. If you will only be having some of the pasta, then you should grab a smaller strainer and scoop into the pot to grab the amount of pasta you want while leaving the rest in the water for others.
Pour the Sauce
Grab the sauce once you have the pasta in your plate. Slowly pour it on your pasta. It’s a choice how much you want to add but try to pour sauce as a top layer all over your pasta, that way it is evenly spread.
Add the Cheese
Add your granted cheese by sprinkling some on the top layer of sauce. This step is optional.
Mix and Enjoy!
Time to mix. Now that you have that top layer of sauce and cheese just mix it in your own plate. The reason for this is that someone eating pasta with you might want a different sauce, different amount etc., but this way everyone gets it the way they love it! Enjoy!
