Quick and Easy Temporary Taillight Repair!

Is your motorcycle taillight lens missing or broken? Need to ride to pick up a new one, but still need the taillight to be red?

This same trick could also be used on your car, truck or trailer!

This was so easy that I surprised even myself! I finished this hack in less than five minutes.

Disclaimer: This is not a permanent fix.  I do not claim that this will make your motorcycle legal to ride on the road, and I am not responsible if you get pulled over or get harassed by law enforcement (even though I don't think you will). Make sure to do an actual repair as soon as possible.

Here is what you do:

Here is what you'll need:

• 1 small food storage tub with RED lid 
• 1 knife
• 1 Roll of electrical tape

Now, use your knife and carefully cut a hole in the bottom of the food storage container.  Make it big enough so that the light bulbs can fit through. Try to make the cut as straight and as clean as possible.

Here is where the tape comes in. Gently place the container over the light bulbs and up against the taillight housing, and use the tape to attach it on both sides.  Don't be afraid to use too much tape; I think I wrapped it around about three times.  You don't want this thing flying off while you are cruising down the road.

You finished!  Great! Now get on that bike and ride! (Just be sure to wear your safety equipment.)
