Quick & Easy Pouch

This is an easy to make pouch for beginner sewers.
Fabric tabs make it easy to insert the zip.
Change the fabric and measurements to create different designs for different end uses.
Materials

- Fabric
- Paper (for template)
- Pins
- Fabric Scissors
- Zipper
Template

Cut the template sized 24 cm x 21 cm, out of an A4 sheet of paper.
Cutting Out the Pieces





Pin the template onto the fabric and cut it out. You will need to cut two pieces out of each fabric type.
Sewing the Two Sides




Place the two pieces of fabric on top of each other, as shown in the picture above.
Pin these two pieces together
Use Zig Zag stitch to sew along the edge of the fabric. (24cm - top edge where the zipper will be placed)
Zipper Foot

Change the foot on the sewing machine, to a zipper foot.
The Zip






Cut out two small pieces of fabric and fold the top over and iron
Pin these two pieces to either end of the zip
Using straight stitch, sew the pieces of fabric to the zip
Sewing the Zip









Take the two sides and fold the zig zagged edge over by about 1 cm
Place the the front and back on the zip, as shown in the picture above.
Pin in place
With the zipper foot on the sewing machine, sew along the length of the zipper
Trimming the Edges



The edges of my pouch were quite messy and did not quite meet, so I took some fabric scissors and trimmed along the edges
Sewing the Pouch


Fold the pouch in half with right sides facing in
Pin together
Using a sewing machine sew sides and base together leaving a 1 cm seam allowance
Zig Zagging the Edges



Zig Zag edges to neaten
Turn Inside Out


Open the zipper and turn the pouch inside out
Finished Product



Once finished the pouch can used for multiple purposes
