Quick & Easy KNITTED FINGERLESS MITTENS

Last year I knit a scarf for my niece as a Christmas gift.. This year she asked me to make her some fingerless hand warmers. This a very quick and easy idea I came up with.
Supplies

basic knitting skills
yarn
needles
darning needle
scissors
ruler
yarn

Cast On

cast on 20 stitches
I used size 13 needles and 2 strands of yarn.
I chose a slightly heavier yarn and a slimmer yarn to match the original scarf I knit. I like to knit with mixed yarns.

Knit about 30 rows
enough to wrap around the hand

knit approx. 30 rows or 8 inches ( for a size small, give more rows for a larger hand)
Cast Off

Cast off by knitting 2 stitches together
then return the remaining stitch to the needle and knit the next 2 stitches until all stitches are removed from needles.

Knit

knit a second piece
Sewing

Thread the darning needle with the thinner strand of yarn and sew fron
m the wrist approx. 3"
make a sturdy knot.

leave a 2" opening and continue to sew to the top edge.
Finish

sew second mitten and the warmers are finished.
