Quick Craft Basket

What you’ll need!

-5”/5” piece of cardboard

- >20 toothpicks

-At least three feet of yarn

-Scissors

How long will it take?

-Once starting your basket, it shouldn’t take you much longer than 20 minutes, weaving the yarn is the tedious part of this quick craft.

Your first step is to cut your cardboard to your desired size and shape. Using a 5”/5” piece, you could cut the square into a heart shape, a triangle, a circle (as examples).

-After cutting the cardboard to your desired shape and size, go along the outer perimeter of your shape; following along the edge within a centimeter, placing a toothpick every half inch. Make sure the toothpicks fit tightly in the poked hole and will be able to stay in place through step three.

-Pick a starting point (towards the bottom of any desired toothpick; normally) and start weaving back and forth through the toothpicks. When looking from above, start going to the left of one toothpick, then the right of the next. Continue this process.

- Once you circle fully around your shape completely, weaving through all your toothpicks, repeat this step and get higher and higher on the toothpicks. The yarn will start overlapping after the first layer of yarn is pressed down upon the cardboard.

After making your way to the top of the toothpicks, tie a knot around a toothpick when you have covered all the wooden toothpicks.

Cut the remaining yarn after the tie and enjoy your basket!
