Quick Cheesymite Scrolls + Choc Hazelnut Scrolls
Ingredients:
Bread
- self raising flour - 1 1/3 cup
- bicarb of soda - 1 pinch
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- softened butter - 1/2 tablespoon
- milk - 1/3 cup
Fillings:
- cheese - 50 grams
- vegemite - 2 teaspoons
- margarine - 2 teaspoons
(alternately swap filling to ham and cheese, or choc hazelnut spread, or anything you like)
Supplies
Tools:
- Oven
- rolling pin
- mixing bowl
- spoon
- butter knife
- more flour - 2 tbsp
Heat Oven
Hear oven to 200C (400F).
Mix Dough
Mix the flour, bicarb-soda, salt, butter and milk to make a dough.
Mix with spoon until combined, then need into a dough by hand.
Roll Dough
Powder the bench with flour, then kneed dough three more times and roll flat. (about 5mm thickness.)
Add Toppings
Spread butter and vegemite, great cheese on top.
Alternatively:
sprinkle with ham and cheese
or choc hazelnut spread
or any of your favorite toppings.
Cut Into Slices
Cut dough into slices 2 cm wide. (2 fingers wide)
Roll Slices
Roll slices into spirals.
Bake
Lay scrolls flat on tray lined with baking paper. so that spirals are visible from above.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Cool and Enjoy
Allow to cool for 3 minutes and enjoy.
