Supplies
You will need:
-4' 1x4 (very straight)
-2' 1x2 (very straight)
-Wood glue
-1 1/2" wood screws
-Square
-Circular saw
-Drill
Checking for Square

Using a 4' piece of 1x4 and a 2' piece of 1x2, glue and lightly clamp the two pieces together roughly as shown. The 1x2 should be mounted with the 1x4 about in the middle. The saw will cut the end of the 1x2 more precisely later to create a guide tab.
Now square up the two boards and tighten the clamp.
Assembly

Once you are happy with the square of the two parts, predrill holes and screw in three 1 1/2" screws though the joint. Remove the clamp.
Cutting Guide Tab

Now run the circular saw along the guide as if you are using it. This will pre cut the guide tab. Now the guide tab can be used to line up with your mark when making a cut. Be advised, this guide is now mated to this exact saw.
Testing

Mark the wood where you want to cut. Line the guide tab up with the mark. Clamp down opposite side as shown. Now make your cut.
Enjoy making long straight cuts for next to nothing!
