According to Pythagoras Theorem, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides of a triangle.

This working Model represents this Theorem.

The frame of the model is made of PVC pipe and elbows, which is connected together to make L-type frame.

This represents a 90 degree angled frame.

It consist of Two PVC pipe of 30 cm each and two elbows, one is L-type and other is T-type.

I have painted them with different colours.

And for the Base, I used a cardboard (size 34 cm X 15 cm), which is covered with colourful Papers.

Scales

The scales are made of two strips of cardboard paper (total = 6) and graph paper strips and markings on them with pen.

Total Three scales are used, for X-axis (Base), Y-axis (Perpendicular) and other moving scale (Hypotenuse).

For moving along X-axis, a circular slider is used and For the Y-axis a piece of PVC pipe is used with a small piece of cardboard.

How It Works!

For sliding purpose 4 bobbins are used.

2 bobbins for the slider of X-axis and other 2 bobbins for the slider of Y-axis.

Thread is bent along the bobbins which is glued with the sliders of each axis.

By rotating Bobbins the slider can be moved in to and fro translational motion.

The Pythagoras Triples shown in pictures:- (6, 8, 10), (5, 12, 13)
