Pull Shut Recycled Bags
Hi! This is my first instructable! I am currently working on my Etsy small business, and understand how hard it is to create effective, aesthetically pleasing and eco friendly packaging at a low price. These recycled bags are pretty and useful - you would never know that I had made them out of an old blouse!
I have added a picture showing everything that you will need, but I will list it here anyway.
I have just realised all my pictures are upside down and I have know idea why. Sorry about that.
Scroll for some simple steps on how to make these:

Supplies
You will need:
1. Scrap fabric
2. Ribbon or string
3. A needle and thread

Measure and Cut
This step is up to you! Measure and cut your chosen fabric according to what size you want the bags to be. Be aware that you will need extra for the fabric to fold in half, the seams and the section that folds over the string that is used to pull it shut.
Time to Sew!
As shown in the pictures, you will need to fold down the edges of the material. This is for the string/ribbon to go into, so make sure that this flap is big enough. Now you are going to sew across the red guidelines in the picture.
More Sewing
This step is similar to the last. Turn the fabric inside out so that the stitching you have just done is facing towards you. Again, you follow the red lines when stitching, but DO NOT sew over the blue circles as that is where the string will go in.
Soo Satisfying
Now you can turn it inside out and check out your hard work!
Nearly There!
Now you can thread your string or ribbon through the flaps in the bag. This can be fiddly but it shouldn’t take that long. As shown in the picture, you thread both pieces of string through the flaps before tying them together to make two loops.
Yay!
Now just pull the knots to close the bag!
Now Time to Feel Proud of Yourself!
Thank you for reading (and maybe doing) my insctructable. I would love to answer any questions and/ or see your bags! Please follow me for more like this and have a nice day! ❤️
