Puff Pastry Waffles
It is as simple as it sounds. Puff pastry in a waffle iron. Here is the basic instructable and some of my favorite fillings for breakfast, dessert and as a snack.
What You Need
-Waffle iron
- puff pastry
- oil
in addition you need for
Breakfast
- two eggs
- salt and pepper
- milk
Snack
- banana
*chocolate
Dessert
- 1/2 apple
- sugar
- cinnamon
Prepare
Preheat your waffle iron.
Cut the puff pastry to the size of your waffle iron.
Breakfast - Scrambled Egg and Puff Pastry Bread Roll
Prepare a scrambled egg - mix the two eggs with salt and pepper and a very little sip of milk, you can add parsley or anything else you want to have in your egg if you want.
Put some oil into your waffle iron. Look at the manual of your iron, you might, under some circumstances, not need to do that.
Pour the egg into the hot waffle iron.
When you have two spaces put one "sheet" of puff pastry into the second space.
Now close the waffle iron. Depending on your waffle iron the egg and the puff pastry should be done in 3 to 6 minutes. When you are not certain weather it is done, just open the iron and have a look.
There you go - scrambled egg and "bread" / "puff pastry bread roll" to put on some jam.
Snack - Banana
Put a slice of puff pastry into your hot waffle iron.
In the meantime cut a banana into slices. Add to the puff pastry bread slice when it´s done.
Or
Lay some banana on the unbaked puff pastry and fold it in half. Now waffle iron it.
*You can add some chocolate to make it an banana-chocolate dessert, not as healthy but still very very good!*
Dessert - Apple Pie
This is my favorite puff pastry creation!
Cut an apple into small pieces.
Place the apple pieces on one side of the puff pastry sheet.
Get some sugar and cinnamon and add it to the apple pieces.
Fold everything and waffle iron it!
