PC 1 / Gel Alcohol Dispenser / Project Introduction
In this first proyect we are going to make an automatic gel alcohol dispenser by sensors , very fast and easy in 30 simple steps.
Using the program Fusion 360 to design the pieces and RD Works like a simulator of the laser cut, in the course Digital Fabrication.
Materials List
- Autodesk Fusion 360 (program)
- RD Works (program)
- Computer (laptop acer i5)
- Wired mouse
- Ultrasonic sensitivity sensor
- Servomotor
Create New Project
1° Step
Open the program Fusion 360
2° Step
Create NEW PROJECT and name it , for example "Práctica Calificada 1_dispensador en gel".
3° Step
Open the project that we have created, go to the SAVE symbol and give it a new name for example "Cara A", we can find it in the data column on the left, where we will find our work file with a preview window.
4° Step
Now that we are in the file "Cara A", we go to CREATE SKETCH, we will visualize 3 planes because Fusion 360 is a program for 3D works.
5° Step
We will choose a plane of our preference according to the position of the piece that we will draw and we will begin to draw lines from the starting point, at the intersection of the two axes.
Piece 1 / Cara A
6° Step
We will start to draw our new piece according to our plan, in this case we will start with a line of 126 mm right in the lower area of the starting point, and we will continue from the starting point to the left area with 28 mm and 3 mm continuously in a straight zigzag pattern until 2 edges are dipped and 3 are exposed.
7° Step
A very quick way to carry out the procedure on the opposite side is to use the MIRROR tool, first we will draw a line in the center of the lower area, then we will select the pieces to repeat and we will conclude with the line that we have drawn in the center, and it will automatically be created a copy on the right side.
8° Step
We will close the drawing, then we will create with the RECTANGLE tool a 24 mm x 3 mm pieces, where we will make a MIRROR to repeat the rectangular piece and we will conclude by selecting FINISH SKETCH.
9° Step
We search CREATE, EXTRUDE to give it a thickness of 3 mm and we go to MODIFY to use APPERANCES, we choose GLASS-LIGHT COLOR (BLUE).
10° Step
We can finally see the finished product of our first piece.
Piece 2 / Cara B
11° Step
We repeat the procedure of 28 mm and 3 mm lines continuously in a straight zig zag shape until we have 3 indented edges and 2 exposed, we will continue making a 60 mm line in the right area, we will continue using MIRROR to have a symmetrical figure in both patterns and finally we will make 2 circles 3 mm and a rectangle of 20 mm x 3 mm.
12° Step
We used EXTRUDE to give it a thickness of 3 mm and we finished with APPERANCES, we chose GLASS-LIGHT COLOR (BLUE).
13° Step
We can finally see the finished product of our second piece.
Piece 3 / Cara C
14° Step
We repeat the procedure of lines of 24 mm and 3 mm continuously in the form of a straight zig zag until we have 3 dipped edges and 2 exposed, and the left area we will draw lines of 20 mm and 3 mm continuously in the form of a straight zig zag until we have 2 edges undid and 1 exposed, to finish we will make MIRROR to have a symmetrical figure in both patterns.
15° Step
We used EXTRUDE to give it a thickness of 3 mm and we finished with APPERANCES, we chose GLASS-LIGHT COLOR (BLUE).
16° Step
We can finally see the finished product of our third piece.
Piece 4 / Cara D
17° Step
We will make a lower line of 60 mm, followed by a line of 30 mm, contiguous with a line of 40 mm and we will continue with a line of 88 mm on the left side, we will use MIRROR to repeat the pattern of lines, and finally we will close the figure with a line of 28 mm.
18° Step
We will make 2 circles of 25 mm in diameter in the largest area and 2 small circles at the opposite end of 3 mm, to finish with the piece we will use 10 mm FILET for the edges.
19° Step
We used EXTRUDE to give it a thickness of 3 mm and we finished with APPERANCES, we chose GLASS-LIGHT COLOR (BLUE).
20° Step
We can finally see the finished product of our quarter piece.
Assemble
21° Step
We create a new file "Ensamble", where we insert the "Cara C" for being the base of our dispenser and the "Cara A".
22° Step
To join these two pieces we will use the JOINT tool, we will select the area where the figures will intersect and the pieces will automatically be joined.
23° Step
We repeat the same procedure with all the pieces and finally we can see our alcohol gel dispenser.
Design 1_Cara A
24° Step
We will choose an image of our liking for example "deer", we will go to the EDIT SKETCH, then we select INSERT - CANVAS, we choose the dxf image, we continue to accommodate the image to our liking and with the SPLINE tool we delineate the silhouette of our image.
25° Step
We select our outline and with right click we give 3mm Extrude and at the end we give FINISH SKETCH.
26° Step
To remove the image, we go to the eye of CANVASES and select it, so that the image is hidden.
Design 2_Cara B
27° Step
We repeat the previous procedure on "Cara B".
Edit Assemble
28° Step
We edited the new "Cara A" and "Cara B" corrections to get our final finish from our alcohol gel dispenser in the Fusion 360 program.
Save DXF
29° Step
We save our file in DXF.
30° Step
We open our files in RD Works to generate a laser simulation of our project.
