You probably have no idea (I certainly didn't) how handy a little project cart like this can be around the house?! It's so functional for so many things! It's great for holding tools for household projects or for use as a wrapping paper cart during the holidays or impress your dinner guests with your dessert/drink cart, to my personal functional favorite... a super craft cart. This industrial project cart on wheels is both functional and stylish!
The cart was super simple to build. We found this project on a Home Depot blog. Ana White created this tutorial especially for The Home Depot’s Do-It-Herself Workshops.

3 - 1/4 x 15 3/4 x 4ft Plywood panels (We sent our teenage daughter and Home Depot cut the panels for her!)
6 - 2 x 4 x 17 1/4"
4 - 2 x 4 x 33" (ours is a little taller than the HD Blog)
6 - 1 x 4 x 17 1/4"
6 - 1 x 4 x 48"
4 - 2-in. locking casters
Step 1: Sand Rough Cut Lumber Before Assembly.
Step 2: Build the Ladder Support Frame
Build the ladder support frame: Using 2" screws, screw the 17 1/4-in. 2 x 4's to your 33-in. 2 x 4's to build the frame. We screwed the first 17 1/4-in. 2 x 4 flush to the bottom of the side supports, the next one 17in. from the bottom and the top support 4-in. from the top of the 33-in. 2 x 4's .
Step 3: Build the Shelves
Build the shelves: Attach the 17 1/4-in. 1 x 4's to the ends of the plywood panel using wood glue and 1 1/4 in. finish nails. Next, attach the 33-in. 1 x 4 sides to the plywood panel.
Step 4: Stain or Paint Your Cart Before Assembly.
Step 5: Assemble the Cart

Assemble the cart: Insert shelves into frame and attach using 2-in. screws.
Step 6: Install Casters

Install casters: We installed the casters as an added support between bottom and side supports of the frame.
And that's it! I super easy, super functional DIY project (craft) cart! :)
