Print a Whiteboard/Permanent Marker Refresher

Every one of us knows the problem: You are planning your project on a whiteboard and suddenly the marker doesn't want to paint anymore. Well, what we basically do is that we throw this marker frustrated and as hard as possible in the direction of a trashcan. But what if we would have used that energy to refresh the marker and save money and still release our frustration about the marker which then turns into satisfaction...

Attention: I'm not responsible for any troubles you are causing through that construction!

Supplies

  • A 3D printer to print this two parts
  • a rope (mine was 1,5m long but if it is longer it wouldn't hurt)
  • a whiteboard marker which doesn't want to collaborate with you

Printing

3D print those files and get a rope with the right diameter and lenght (maybe consider choosing a stronger rope...)

(the files and my printer settings are on thingiverse)

Put the rope and the print together in a way like this (I'm sure you do better XD --> just make sure that the pen is clamped in well and doesn't fall out if you spinn it)

Have Fun!

spin the construction around till the result is good enought.

Attention: If you push too hard the marker won't probably work the way you want it!

Résumé

enjoy your marker which is almost as good as new

I was amazed that it worked that well! The picture shows on the left the strokes I drawed before I spun the construction around and on the right side you can indeed see the strong result.

Note: If spinning this around a thousand times doesn't make it write again, then you just should consider buying a new one and throwing the old one away... (I might upload a blueprint for a marker slingshot soon XD)

Hope you had fun and the project does help you out! If you got questions or anything to add please don't hesitate --> I'll try to answer as quick as possible.
