Print-Optimized Slingshot (PETG) - Frame

I found an excellent model on Printables but wanted something slimmer, so I adapted the handle to make it a solid structure (removing the grip supports and holes).

I recommend printing the body, clamps, and knobs with 100% infill, at least 5 perimeter walls, and using aligned rectilinear infill.

This model only requires the following hardware:

  1. 2x M4x16mm socket head cap screws (or Allen bolts)
  2. 2x M4 nuts
  3. 2x M4 washers
  4. 1x slingshot band (0.65mm or 0.75mm thickness recommended; never rely too heavily on a 3D printed slingshot)

Print the following parts:

  1. 1x "Body"
  2. 2x Clamps
  3. 2x Knobs

Once printed, you just need to:

  1. Insert the M4 bolts into the knobs.
  2. Press-fit the M4 nuts into the clamps.
  3. Place one M4 washer onto each knob/bolt assembly.
  4. Pass the knob/bolt assemblies through the top of each fork.
  5. Loosely screw on the clamps (nut side facing outwards).
  6. Attach your chosen slingshot band.

Disclaimer and Warning: Use of 3D Printed Slingshots

By using this 3D printed slingshot, you acknowledge and understand that these items can be prone to structural failure. Due to the nature of 3D printing, stress concentrations in the frame can lead to the slingshot breaking or shattering at any time, even under normal use. Such failures can result in serious injury, including but not limited to eye damage, facial injuries, or worse.

To ensure your safety, it is strongly recommended that you:

  1. Regularly inspect the slingshot for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage before each use.
  2. Only use the slingshot under appropriate conditions, avoiding excessive force or tension.
  3. Always wear eye protection when using the slingshot.
  4. Never aim or shoot at living beings, as this can cause serious injury, trauma, or even death.
  5. Ensure you comply with all local laws and regulations regarding the use, possession, and ownership of slingshots in your country or region.

You use this item at your own risk. Always prioritize safety and operate with caution.
