Pringles Can Guitar Amp

Sometimes I want to grab the electric guitar just to play a few riffs without having to set up my regular amp.

So I wanted to create a cheap, easy to build and very simple guitar amp: The Pringles Can Amp

What You Need:

- A small Pringles can,

- One 5 W mini speaker, (this one comes from an old computer speaker)

- One 6,35 mm female jack

- One TDA2030 amplifier module

- 9V Connector

- 9V battery

Glue the Speaker Behind the Lid

Use a hot glue gun.

Cut the Lid

Cut the lid with a cutter to free the speaker. Be careful not to cut the speaker membrane!

Glue the 9V Connector Outside the Can

Use superglue first and then finish with epoxy resin. Drill a small hole in the cardboard and bring the 9V wires inside the can.

Wire the Mini Amp

Plug the 9V batteriy and test with the guitar. I turned the amp potmeter full on and set the volume with my guitar volume knob.

I taped the underside of the TDA2030 to avoid short circuit and installed it inside the can

Voila!

I put the 9V battery outside the can for 3 reasons:

- it works as a stand to keep the amp steady

- no on/off switch needed

- easy to replace the battery. I use a rechargeable battery

This amp has no pretention, just grab it and play!
