Pretzel Pizza
I just love soft pretzels and I love to find new uses for the dough. One thing I love is Pretzel Pizza. It's the same as any pizza, just with pretzel dough. It tastes so good, and no one leaves the crust uneaten.
Gather Your Ingredients
You'll need pretzel dough and baking soda. (See https://www.instructables.com/id/Perfect-Soft-Pretzels for pretzel dough and baking soda bath recipe. You can half the baking soda recipe though for this one.). Get pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, a little melted butter, and any of your favorite pizza toppings.
Roll Out the Dough
Use a large piece of pretzel dough. Roll it into a ball and begin smashing it out. Use a rolling pin if you'd like. Toss it into the air. However you can flatten it, just do it.
Brush the Crust
Gently brush some of the baking soda/water mixture around the edge of the dough (the crust part of the pizza). Sprinkle with a little course salt.
Top It
Spoon some pizza sauce on the dough and spread it around, leaving about an inch on the edges. Sprinkle the cheese. Not in your mouth! Oh well. Just save enough for the pizza. Top with whatever you like on your pizza. Leave sitting for about 15 minutes so the crust can rise a bit. Preheat oven to 350.
Bake
Bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes. Crust should be golden brown and cheese should be all melty. Brush the crust with some melted butter. Maybe even put a little garlic powder in the melted butter. Yum.
Eat
Slice it up and enjoy.
