Obe is 3,5 years old. He has a severe mental delay, troubles with eating and is being seen by 9 different medical specialists in UZ Gent. His mental age is around 12 months. He has a hypotone image, can't walk yet without an aid( he can walk with a walking aid and hopefully can walk by himself by the summer). He doesn't appear to have any feelings of hunger or interest in food. He can't eat/drink by himself. He gets fed through a tube as a supplement for his calorieintake. There are also visual problems but testing this has proven to be difficult. Obe now wears glasses of -7 but keeping it on is the issue. Aid: An aid that helps Obe keep his glasses on his head. He usually pulls this off.

Here are materials that we used for this project. everything you see is standard
MATERIALS
- Most of the materials are from the helmet itself.
We use straps and foam from the helmet.
Specifications: Size: XS 46-52 cm Weight: 230 grams - You will need a transparent plastic sheet, we used pvc, to make the shield
- Velcro (but not that much, you can take some off the helmet you bought)
- You will need screws and bolts, 16mm x 4mm (x2)
- Rubber spacers for between helmet and the shield to create space in between (but you can use other alteratives.) We liked rubber because it provides flexibility. 16mm x 5 mm (x4)
TOOLS - Screwdriver: to mount the bolts
- Dremel or drill with a 4mm drill bit. Bore 2 holes in helmet headband.
- Use superglue, hot glue, or fabric glue to attach the velcro.
- You're ready to go!
Step 2: Preparation Before Assembly

- Cut your face shield out of the PVC.
- Bore two holes in the pvc and headband, in order to attach the two.
- Add screws and spacers to ensure alignment BEFORE drilling through PVC.
