Presbyterian: an Airplane Mini-Bottle Cocktail

I don't drink much, so keeping bottles of liquor is not a cost-effective thing to do. They evaporate before I finish them. Therefore, I'm on a quest to find cocktail recipes that use those little airplane bottles of liquor.

Supplies

What you need are:

  1. An airplane mini-bottle of scotch
  2. A single-serving can of club soda
  3. A single-serving can of ginger ale
  4. A half tray of ice cubes
  5. Something to stir with
  6. There's no reason you couldn't use an iced-tea spoon; I just happen to have this cocktail spoon laying around from dreams since abandoned.
  7. A 12-oz. glass
  8. I'm using a 12-ounce Highball glass I bought on Amazon {no longer available}.

Make It!

  1. Put the ice cubes into the glass.
  2. Pour the scotch over the ice cubes.
  3. Pour the sodas into the glass at the same time. You want about the same amount of each.
  4. Stir.

Was It Worth It?

At $4.36 for all the ingredients, it isn't that expensive, especially when you think of what you pay at a bar AND you'll have half a can of ginger ale and club soda to make a second glass. Total for two glasses would be $6.35, or $3.175 each glass.

Taste-wise, it is sweet and smoky. On sipping, the ginger overpowers the scotch a little bit, but there is this smooth aftertaste which I am enjoying. This makes my cut for something I'd like to have again.

I'm about ⅔ of the way throught he first glass right now, and I am feeling calm and content. As you can ee, the typing is alreayd going away. So, I think I ';ll call this a night and maybe have a second glass.

Chow for now!

UPDAET: After just the one drink, I am pleasantl.y plotzed. I don't think I need that second cocktail.
