Precision Tent Pole Cutting
I've got an old fiberglass pole tent whose poles are rotting. I needed a quick fix so ordered some craftsmen replacements. As I got to work I noticed that a hack saw was the recommended cutting tool. I lacked one, so I found my trusty pipe cutter. Did all the measuring and such per instructions. Measured again, for good measure;), clamped on my cutter and started twisting. After about 10 mins I realized that this was going to take a long time, it's some tough material. Then I glanced and my cordless drill...dude! I thought.
This admittedly isn't much of an instructable, but it saved me a ton of time and effort.
Just please remember, you do NOT want fiberglass dust in your lungs, please take precautions.
