Potassium Chlorate and Sugar Initiated by Conc. Sulfuric Acid

How to:
1. Mix sugar and potassium chlorate
2. Add concentrated sufuric acid to the mixture.

This reaction produce purplish flame when Conc. suulfuric acid is added to the mixture. The principle behind the initiation could be complex, but mainly because of Chlorine dioxide formed and medium supplied by Conc. Sulfuric acid.
