Today I decided to make a pot roast. A very savory soul food that would be great for all times of the year!

Supplies

Chuck roast of course!

Potatoes

carrots

Seasonings ( any you prefer) I used garlic powder, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, and onion soup mix.

Olive oil

Beef broth, aprox. 2 cups

Cream of mushroom soup

Aprox. 2 cups water

Vegetables: green, red, and yellow bell peppers

Onions

Take your roast meat and season it with desired seasonings. Cut slits in meat to ensure it is seasoned thoroughly

You can also add butter into the slits

Drizzle a bit of olive oil into a pot and let it heat up.

Add your meat to the pot and let it sear until golden brown on each side.

Once golden brown on all four sides remove the meat from the pot and set aside.

Take your bell peppers and onions and slice them up.

Add veggies to the same pot meat was removed from

Sear vegetables until onions are translucent.

Add in onion soup mix, more seasoning, and cream of mushroom soup. Stir until combined

Once combined, add in your beef broth. Measurements vary, but make sure the pot is at least almost halfway full.

Add your meat back in and add about 2 cups water or enough to almost or completely cover your roast.

Bring to a boil but do not let it get to high.

Once boiling, cover your roast and let boil on medium for about 4-6 hours.

When you have about an hour left of cook time you want to cut up your potatoes and carrots and let them boil for the remaining time.

After adding in your potatoes and carrots and letting them cook for a minute, the meat should be perfectly tender so you want to start shredding your meat and remove all bones.

Once all bones are removed, meat is shredded, and potatoes and carrots are soft, every thing should be combined and ready for serving!
