Portable Usb Stick Holder

IMG-1631.JPG

Hello! I made this to store my flash drives in a way that I could just throw it in my back pack and not have to worry about them becoming smashed or buried under everything else.

Supplies

The supplies you need for this are:

1. 3dprinter

2. TinkerCad - to design the parts

3. Cardboard, super glue, and a pencil (optional, to make the lid)

Make the Holder Part and the Usb Connecter Sized Holes.

Step 1: Make a hole 14mm tall by 6mm by 12.5mm. Duplicate it until you have the desired amount of usb sticks.

Step 2: Raise the holes 4.5mm and space them out by 10mm.

Step 3: Make a rectangle 10mm longer on each side than the space used by the usb ports, then 25mm wide and 17mm tall.

Step 4: Center the rectangle with the middle usb hole.

Make the Tray

Step 1: Make a rectangle hole 10mm less long than the usb holder part, 25mm tall and 78mm wide. Raise it 5mm.

Step 2: Make a rectangle the same length as the usb holder part, 25mm tall, and 85mm wide.

Step 3: Use the align tool to align the rectangle and hole like I did in the picture. Then group them.

Print!

Print it with your preferred print settings.

Step 1: Place both parts in front of you, with the usb holes facing horizontal and the tray part up-rite.

Step 2: Glue them together like in the picture.

Steps 3, 4, 5, and 6 are optional but recommended

Step 3: Trace the parts that you glued together on cardboard

Step 4: Bend the card board approximately 0.7 of an inch from the edge on the slightly longer side.

Step 5: Glue the area shorter smaller area of the cardboard to the bigger lip of the usb holder.
