Portable Stop Motion Studio

A shoe box can be used for a whole lot of things, but, have you ever thought it could be made into a portable, but fully functional, stop motion studio? Here is how you can take a shoe box and turn it into a stop motion studio.

Materials and Tools

Tools:
scissors or box knife
hole punch
hot glue gun
camrea (an iphone works just fine)
stop motion program (here are two programs that I would recommend. Dragonframe and iMotion HD)

Materials :
fishing line
Lego
16 x 32 Lego base plate
shoe box
card stock or paper

poster putty

First, unfold your shoe box. After your shoe box is unfolded, glue the back inner panels onto the creased edges. Make sure that your box is still able to fold up into it original shape.

Adding the String

Punch two holes for the string to tie onto so it will hold up the lid and, so that it will not be in the way of the camera.

Now, fold up your box and glue or stick your base plate on the bottom of the shoe box. Once you unfold your box, it should look like the one above.

Using Your Studio

To use this stop motion studio, unfold the box and lay out your background. I use card stock which is able to hold its self up, but, you could tape computer paper onto the box. Then, set up your camera and start taking pictures.
