Portable Soldering Station
In this instructable I am going to show you how to make a cheap soldering station that will give you a clean organized place to do some basic soldiering. This is my first instructable so if it isn't the best I am sorry, please let me know any questions and ill be happy to help.
ALL THE PARTS FOR THIS I REUSED AND RECYCLED FROM THINGS I HAD LAYING AROUND THE HOUSE.
Materials and Tools
Materials
1 cheap soldering iron with table stand ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/Soldering-Iron-30-Watt/3... )
Spray Paint
Metal Pipe
Screws
Aluminum Foil
Super Glue
1 wooden board (whatever size you want your work space) (I got mine free from home depot as a piece of scrap)
Tools
Drill
Hacksaw
Drill bits
Spray Painting
This step may not be required but it will give your station a nice look. Spray paint the board whatever color you want, I chose black as I had some paint already.
Cut the Pipe
after the paint drys you will want to cut your piece of metal pipe to a few inches longer then the end of the soldering iron. I used a piece I had laying around from another project.
Adding Everything
once the paint drys add the pipe to the top corner of the board by super gluing it standing upright (whichever corner you like depending on how you hold your iron). Then at the bottom corner screw in the table stand by placing a screw at the top and bottom. You will have to drill two holes in the plastic. Finally add the wire for the soldering iron through the wire stand so that it holds in place. I added a Aluminum foil square to the side which i glued down. This is a place to put a sponge for cleaning or to set your iron if you need to for a second.
That is about it. Thanks for looking at this ible.
