In this project I'll be making a portable battery pack glove for my mini drill machine. It can also be used for similar handheld devices.

If you don't prefer to read, you can skip it and watch the video instead where I have explained all the steps in detail. If you do, then continue reading the written steps along with pictures in the following steps. Find out more similar projects and gadget reviews on my YouTube channel www.youtube.com/miibooth

In case you're interested to but a similar drill, here's the link: http://shrsl.com/?fbx4

This is what you'll need.

- A pair of Gloves

- 3 9V batteries ( you might need different voltage according to your device)

- 9V battery connectors

- A power cable and and electronic device ( In my case Im using a mini drill which I reviewed on my youtube channel and the wire comes from its old power adaptor which stopped working)

- A Soldering iron

- Electrical tape

Let's make it now.

This is the drill which I reviewed on my channel a couple of weeks ago. It is a mini hand held drill with dozens of accessories for drilling, cutting, polishing, engraving, sanding etc. It is a perfect DIY companion.

The power adaptor which came along with it got ruined and I salvaged the wire from it to make my own portable battery pack for it.

To do that, I;

- First connected three 9 volt batteries in series using some 9 volt battery connectors, leaving me with a negative and a positive terminal.

- Next, I cut the adaptor wire short to how much I need it.

- Remove the outer insulation and strip the inner black(positive) and red(negative) wire.

- Connect them to the black and red wires from the battery pack we made.

- Solder them and cover with electrical tape.

With this the battery pack is complete and now its time to prep the glove.

- For the portability factor, I chose a glove. I cut up one glove and used it to make a pocket on the back of the other to hold the batteries. I also cut up a finger and made a flap with a button to hold the batteries from falling out. I stitched them all together using a thread and a need. (My mom actually did all the stitching)

Alternately, you can use gloves which comes with back pockets.

- Insert the three batteries and once they are nice and snug inside, close the flap.

That is it. Just wear the glove and plug in the wire that is coming out from it into you device.

I did a quick test with my drill and it seems to be working fine.

Note: It's not going to perform as well as it will with its adaptor connected to a 220V AC power supply but it will give you around 15 min of extra drilling and cutting when you're short of a proper power supply.
