Porta-Pong

DSC_0036.JPG

In my household, there are 4 kids, including me. So you can imagine the boredom that occurs during summertime for us. I was on the computer one day and found some sort of toy a kid had designed called "aeropong", which was basically a version of ping-pong with a string. I decided to attach this element to a hat and got this! It's a small ball attached to a hat which lets you practice hitting the ball, and we discovered a few other ways to play with it! This can be made in about an hour and requires little skill. Let's make it!

Supplies

You'll need:

A hat

Sewing tools

Paper cup

A string

A hollow practice golf ball with holes

Skewers

Hot glue gun

Stick

Stick the Skewer into the cup and glue it straight up like so.

Overhang

Put a skewer at a 90-degree angle to the first one and glue it there as well.

Stabilization

Place skewers at the base and the top to keep the overhang from bending down. You should have something that looks like a crane now.

Tie

Tie a string to the top of the "crane". At the other end, tie the wiffle ball on. Now for the hat part!

Sew

Sew the cup to the hat with a simple running stitch. (Tip: Poke guide holes in the cup. It makes the sewing so much easier!)

Done!

All done! It wasn't that hard, wasn't it? Now go play. It can be used to play ping pong, but you can also use it for things like knocking stuff down and placing the ball in the cup (ask someone to eat the ball, it's hilarious!)

Thanks for reading!

Have a great day!
