I was in the mood to make something and wanted to make something with the craft supplies I had, and I thought, why not a sled decoration?

Supplies

Scissors

4 Popsicle Sticks

12 Toothpicks

One 5 inch long piece of twine

Hot glue gun + sticks

1 Red pipe cleaner

Tweezers

1 Paint brush

1 Paper plate or paint palette

Disposable cup with water

Red Paint (I used acrylic paint)

Glue Together the Popsicle Sticks

First, heat up your hot glue gun and while it is heating up gather your four popsicle sticks.

After your glue gun is hot, run some hot glue along the long side of your first popsicle stick and stick the second one to it. Repeat until all four popsicle sticks are glued together.

Adding the Toothpicks on the Bottom

Use your scissors to cut two of your toothpicks equally in half.

Next, use your glue gun to glue the toothpicks on 2 1/2 inches apart on the long side, and one toothpick away from each other the short way.

Connecting the Pipe Cleaners

Now cut your pipe cleaner in half, and bend one side on each half so that it curls up as seen in the first picture.

Next, glue the pipe cleaners to the bottom of your toothpicks, so that the flat side will be on the bottom when you flip it over.

Now you can flip it over!

Adding the Top Toothpicks

Now proceed to run some hot glue along the short end of your popsicle sticks, on the top of the sled. Using the tweezers so that you don't burn your fingers, place a toothpick on. Repeat until all toothpicks are added, slowly bending the end into shape, after each one is added.

Paint Your Sled

First, dip your paintbrush into the water, before dipping it into your paint.

Next, paint your sled making sure to run the paint in the same direction that the popsicle sticks or toothpicks are facing, as that will make the paint look nicer with less gaps in it.

Gluing on the String

Finally put one dot of hot glue on either side of the top of your toothpicks, and stick on the the string.

Now your sled is done! Enjoy your new sled decoration, and have a wonderful holiday season. If you liked this instructable, please vote for it in the Holiday Decor contest!
