Popsicle Stick Invention!

(I do not have a better name for this...
Please suggest a better name!)

Function: You place the "invention" on top of a plate with food, and you can put a napkin over it without it touching the food!

Simple idea, yet functional concept.

UPDATE:
Changed name to "Popsicle Stick Napkin Tent" as kindly suggested by sherrycayheyhey. Thanks!

Get Your Stuff!

This is the $ LONG $ list of materials that you need:

 - Hot Glue Gun

 - 3 Popsicle Sticks

 - Compass (see picture)

 - Pen

 - An empty tape roll, or similar.

 - Standard size sheet.

 - Small piece of 2mm balsa sheet.

("$" stands for "sarcasm")

Compass Angle

Open the compass to almost the same length as the popsicle sticks.

Draw a Circle

r_IMG_0923.jpg
Draw a circle. Try to get it centered.

Don't close your compass when you're done.

Next, mark anywhere on the circle.

Set the tip of your compass on the notch. Be as precise as you can. Be careful not to change the distance of the compass.

Draw a little curve that crosses the circle.

Next, Set the tip of the compass on the new marking. Make another marking.

Repeat the process until you have six marks.

Select three as in the picture.

Tape Roll

Place the tape roll in the center of the circle.

Place the popsicle sticks so that they meet above the center of the tape roll, and the other ends lie above the selected markings on the paper.

Glue on the junction.

Let the glue harden.

Flip!

Flip the contraption upside down. Reinforce with more glue.

Flip it back quickly, or the hot glue might soften the cool, hard glue.

Cut the Balsa

Cut the balsa into a small triangle.

Glue the triangle like this.

Done! Now Use It!

Now you put it on top of a plate with food, and put a napkin on it. The "Napkin Tent" will keep the napkin from soaking on your food.
