Pop Up Shop DIY Modern Counter

In the past few months I asked myself how I could improve my pop-up shop without paying a fortune for furniture and decoration. I wanted to use recycled materials and furniture that I could have re-assembled once I had to change the location of my activity. These were my needs but I could not find an adequate solution, until I discovered the projects designed by PlayWood.

Why PlayWood?

Thanks to the technology they offer, I have chosen to arrange my working space by only using cheap wooden boards and high-quality plastic connectors.

Doing so, I settled a modern working space, without giving up on design and elegance, and the best part is that I can use all the materials over and over once I have to move my pop-up shop due to their modular and innovative system. Thus PlayWood projects are made for being easy to fold once you have to shift the location or once they do not relate anymore with your needs. Fantastic!

What Do I Need?

For this setting I decided to build a standing counter, where I can greet my customers and some modular shelves to exhibit my merchandise. I had to move quickly, because I did not have much spare time and plus I had to do all the work by myself, but unfortunately I am not a keen DIY maker.

Nonetheless I found the perfect solution to my problems: Using PlayWood connectors and wooden boards of OSB 3 and white bilaminate edged with a thickness between 16 and 19 cm (¾” and ⅞”), I realized an ultra-modern and chic counter in very few simple steps.

To be precise, I decided to use:

  • 2 wooden boards 100 x 40 cm - 39,37" x 15,75"
  • 1 wooden board 100 x 60 cm - 39,37" x 23,62"
  • 1 wooden board 60 x 40 cm - 23,62" x 15,75"
  • 8 PlayWood Connectors 90°

How Do I Build It?

Here I applied four PlayWood connectors to the largest and tallest wooden board: This will be the front of my counter where I am going to put the logo of my Pop-up shop.

Thanks to these connectors I joint my wooden boards one another and I built a rectangular shape in just 5 minutes: I fastened the connectors by only using an Allen Key #5 withouth nailing or drilling. I was so proud of my job!

What Are You Waiting For?

Once I joint all the panels through the connectors, I checked that my structure was stable and safe, I stand it and my counter was done and ready to be used!
