Pond Planing
Know there are two main ways to make a good pond
One Pond liner
Two Preshaped stiff pond liner
Now since it is easier and is able to be customized to shape we used rubber pound liner
You also have to take into thought will you have fish how much water do you want location.
For our pound we made it a 120 in X 60 in X 24in so we roughly have 748 gallon pond but since we are putting in fish we are going to use half the water.

Pump Planning
You have to take into planning do you want to put a direct line into your sprinklers or do you just want a hose like we did
If you want a sprinkler you will need a pump that can sustain a high water flow and pressure enough to run your sprinkler heads but these are fairly expensive.
We put in a 1/2 horse power pump and we just put a hose tap on to the house coming from our pump and dug a power line to the pump and put a switch next to the tap.

Digging
After you have decided what shape size pond liner and depth it is time to dig fore me it took about a 9-10 hour dig and I got it done and ready to fill I put the liner then filled it up !!! But you might want to hold back on filling!!!
Piping, Pump, and Drain
So I decided to go with draining form the roof, Putting in a pump, and wiring it to a switch by the tap.
For installing the pump I first put in a sprinkler box and dug the trenches to the house then I installed the piping for the intake with a check valve because or pump has to keep water in to run and for the intake pipe I ran it up and over the side of the pound to an "L" shape pipe under water then capped the end and drilled holes in the pipe so there was a distribution of intake water so I don't pup fish with my system
Now for the out lines I ran a strait line under ground to the house and put a tap all done with PVC Pipe screwed on to the house with no valve because the pump you don't want to create a lot of pressure and burn your pump.
Now for the drain we took 3 IN Drain tubing and connected it to the storm drain then ran it through my original trench.

Power
What we did was connected a switch connected to a GFI, (by the water Tap) to a inside power source then ran under ground standard wire over to our box having one plug continuous and the other on the switch so we could plug some thing in the middle of our yard to a power source.
The Pump had a plug to just plug into our socket.
